Views and Comments on the Pre-Zero Draft [Archive]

Between 5 September and 13 October 2014, States and major groups engaged actively in open-ended informal consultative meetings on the pre-zero draft to provide feedback leading to the development of the co-Chairs’ zero draft of 20 October 2014. Participants offered general comments reflecting policies, practices and ideas for advancing existing work on disaster risk reduction. Many other stakeholders also submitted written contributions. The material received by the co-Chairs constitutes an important repository of policy, practice and guidance with potential relevance in the post-2015 partnership-building and implementation phase, thus going beyond their value as inputs for the preparations for the Third United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
